| In 2004, President George Bush set a goal that all hospitals would have electronic health records within the next ten years. Over the past year President Barrack Obama has mentioned the electronic health record on numerous occasions; sighting how this tool can save the healthcare industry billions of dollars while increasing patient safety and the quality of care. While you have have undoubtedly heard about the electronic health record (also referred to as the EHR) and how wonderful it is, it is quite possible that you do not fully understand how it can truly do all the things that are being claimed. To help you understand the world of Health Information Management and the Electronic Health Record just a little bit better, we are providing you with a presentation on the EHR and it’s benefits (I know, riveting information and you can’t wait to watch it).
