True knots in the nuchal cord would occur early on in the pregnancy as the fetus has to go through the cord. Later on in pregnancy or at time of delivery the fetus is too large for that to happen.
Multiple gestation and multiple NSTs- yes, you can do NSTs for each fetus- some machines are designed to be able to record both at one time- if more fetuses then would have to get another machine. NSTs are not done till generally after 28 weeks gestation as there would be no accelerations in fetal heart rate before that time- so the fetus would be large enough to identify individually. |
